These Are Proven Webmaster Affiliate Marketing Tips on Increasing Traffic & Sales

The best ways to make your affiliate marketing successful and profitable is through hard work and networking amongst other webmasters in the same niche. Here are some proven methods on how to drive traffic to your website and increase the volume of your overall sales.

• Firstly, your website has to be rich in content and interesting. Rich in informative text and interesting images that rotate regularly are very important.

• Try to experiment with different sponsors and find which ones sell best on your sites according to niche. Different types of traffic sell better to one sponsor as opposed to another. Do not feel obligated promoting only one affiliate program.

• Promoting several sponsors in the same or similar niche on your site will also give you an opportunity for you to see what your main traffic source is after.

• Choose your hosting carefully too. My personal preference is not to be too cheap.

• Don’t join an affiliate program just because alot of other webmasters have. Check the program/sponsor out carefully and see if their products are sellable before you make a decision to sign up.

• Your website should be really search-engine friendly & optimized, including all meta tags. Videos about the benefits of the product of what you are selling is also a great idea and added content that search engines love.

• Opt -In E-mail promotions to your targeted audience (members?) and developed for an effective way to up sell your  product through emails that will not be perceived as junk mail nor spam. We all hate spam Wink

• Develop your area in a niche market – direct marketing is beneficial in the long run. Seek new niche ideas by listening to those around you, the news, and asking others what they look for when they go surf the net. Listen to the local radio, watch TV, read magazines, including the advertisements to find out more about what are the needs of your niche.

• Appeal to the surfer through design, content and added attractions. Earn bookmark traffic.

• Communicate with your sponsors and program representatives, and continually be on the lookout for new webmaster/affiliate programs to increase your profits. Many affiliate managers will go the extra mile to get your traffic and will work with you on improving your sales.

A combination of the above webmaster tips will help you to improve your affiliate marketing online overall. As well, as in any other business, determination and hard work are an important part of any affiliate marketers success. Make sure you are truly committed before you spend countless hours and time on a website...affiliate webmaster marketing is a lot of work that pays off. Work smart and not hard.

I welcome anyone to add to this

Another way to increase traffic is to have profiles on facebook, myspace, blogger, typepad, wordpress, picassa , stumbleupon, diggit, delicious etc..if you then install into your browser plugins that allow you to instantly send something to facebook, hi5, myspace and co, you can add links or pages from your blogs and sites to these interfaces. the act of adding lots and lots of friends, joining groups and such will cause your traffic to increase (i post all my links and widgets on facebook etc) add an "add this page to facebook" script too your site..add an rss feed with feedburner, post on forums using links inserted into your keywords (desired keywords) for example seo school is a word i use to post as a link in forums and articles with a link leading to my SEO Blog
Another way to attract traffic is to write articles referring to your page in links on high ranking pages like article city etc.
The higher the pagerank of the page linking to you the better..this is a kind of "deep linking"
This said..the aforementioned prerequisites explained by Dave above stand as a common standard for attracting traffic. original, interesting content.
It is no use having a load of text with optimized keywords for the search engines if it is boring to read for the human visitor.
Write your content for the "Reader". not the search engine.

Hi there,

I really cant give you the great tips but definitely i can give you some of my best tips through my experience. All this i had learnt through my affiliate marketing with Referforex.com. I started with $150 per month and within 10 months now i am earning around $750 per month. These are some points i always keep in my mind.

1. Firstly, every merchant should not expect earnings from the 1st day. Also if anyone commits it, this means there is some forge.

2. Good and healthy SEO needed: This means that one shuld not just submit their site anywhere randomly but look for places where the site remains for long and has good traffic.

3. Placing affiliate banners on blogs also helps a lot.

4. Target search engines and make your site more visible.

5. Choose an affiliate program that matches your Web site’s subject matter, is easy for you to implement and offers a high commission.

6. Monitor your commissions and re-evaluate your affiliate program every three to six months. Are you generating revenue? Are there other programs that you should consider joining?

7. Make your site very attractive and update it regularly.

8. Search for reason for making your traffic stay on your site forever.

9. Dont ever try any paid affiliate if you dont know it nicely.

10. Lastly place attractive ads and free offers so that people click them.

I agree with SEO is must. Other things which have worked for me are:

Article marketing – submit articles and link back to your website in the resource box for your articles.

Blog commenting - You can also comment on popular blogs like John Chow's or Joel Comm's that allow linkbacks to your URL. Do a Yahoo/Google Search for it.

Forums - Forum marketing in your niche.

Viral marketing techniques - Create a video and upload it to YouTube with your URL flashed on the screen. Or else just use viral widgets on your blog/web site to spread that word of mouth.

A viral widget is a social network application like a facebook application or Myspace application.

Google images search is a really great source of surfer traffic and using alt tags & image title is your best resource... This is what many webmasters fail to do... name and tag their images properly.
